NEW: Aluminum Plate and "D" Ring

Hello Everyone: I am happy to announce the expansion of the Critical Aspect product line with two new designs. First, I now have an aluminum backplate that will be available in only a couple of weeks. This copy of the original stainless steel plate will be all aluminum and should weigh about 2.8 pounds (compared to 7.0 pounds for the stainless model). The harness hardware (6 "D" rings and the belt buckle) will continue as stainless. This lighter variation will be great for fresh water diving and also for dive travel.
The second design is shown in the included pictures. This is the Flying "D" ring...originally, I started calling it the "Extended 'D' ring" but John Chatterton liked the name "Flying", so "Flying" it was! This unique design (Patent Pending) is part of the original Pterodactyl Backplate/Harness System but with an improvement...I have modified the design to include a "locking post" that engages with a grommet set into the harness. Three grommets on each side of the harness are included to provide a range of adjustability. This is called "HARNESS LOCK" and is another one of the numerous unique features of the Pterodactyl. With Harness Lock, the diver can engage the Flying "D" ring with the harness, clip-on the upper snaphook of the stage bottle and rest-assured that the "D" ring will never slide-down the harness under the stage bottle weight. And, this Harness Lock feature does not require the use of any tools. Functional simplicity at it's best. No other backplate on the market has a "D" ring of this design. Critical Aspect Inc....always working to make diving easier, safer and more convenient for you!
