BENEATH THE SEA Dive Show

Hello everyone...Gary A. Cresswell here. For all of you who have wanted to see the Pterodactyl Backplate/Harness System "up close and personal"...I have good news! This coming March 23, 24 and 25, 2007 I will be an exhibitor with my own booth at the huge BENEATH THE SEA dive show at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, Secaucus, New Jersey. I was an exhibitor there three years ago with limited success but I expect things to be different this time. Compared to 2004, now I will have a year of advertising in Wreck Diving Magazine, the endorsement of a huge diving cellebrity...John Chatterton and I will also have two new additions to my product line...the STA (single tank adapter) and the aluminum Pterodactyl. These are significant differences that I expect will impact positively on my success at this show. During the 2004 BTS show, I held my own raffle to win a stainless steel Pterodactyl. I sold a huge number of tickets and advertised that the drawing of the winning ticket would be at the end of the show on Sunday. Just prior to the appointed time of the drawing, the isle in front of my booth was jammed with ticket-holders. Nobody could walk down the isle at that point because it was so packed. I was ammased at the level of enthusiasm. Show Management came to me and complained about the problem people were having walking down the isle but I assured them that the ticket would be drawn in just a few minutes after which the crowd would disperse. I did not require the winner to be present at the time of the drawing to win because I knew that many people would not be attending the show for the entire weekend. This meant that I would have to write-down names/e-mail addresses if the ticket buyer would not be present then. I still can't forget how the noisy crowd went completely silent when I reached into the box to draw the winning ticket. When the ticket was drawn, it was nobody in the crowd so I refered to my list and announced the name of the winner who was not present. Even more noteworthy in my mind was the reaction of the crowd after I drew the ticket...THEY WERE ANGRY THEY HADN'T WON! I just couldn't believe it. For a moment, I honestly thought there might be a miniature riot at my booth. To this day, I continue to be impressed with this level of emotion over my product. I plan on holding another raffle from my booth and I look forward to repeating the same experience. In fact, I may have two raffles...one for the stainless model and one for the new aluminum model. It may be wise to hold these two raffles perhaps an hour appart to make some attempt at managing the crowd...SEE YOU THERE!
