Dive Instructor Discount

Recently, I have come to appreciate the potential benefits of having my products used by Diving Instructors. Diving Instructors are a special breed of individual who are professionals and leaders and who take their craft very seriously. Often times, their students look-up to them and follow their lead. The advice given by an Instructor and the examples that they make with their actions, their decision-making and their choice of equipment are held in high regard by their students. And also, Instructors aren't usually compensated at a level that would turn them all into Donal Trump...right? SO, I have decided to amend my current policies to include the folowing...all Diving Instructors currently practising in the USA may purchase a Pterodactyl Backplate/Harness System (and any other products by Critical Aspect Inc.) at the wholesale price and with Free Shipping (to anywhere in the continental USA). I want my products being used by Instructors! If you are an Instructor...contact me directly at info@criticalaspect.com. Verification of your Instructor status will be required, of course.

Great DEMA Show

Hello everyone! A great deal of interest in The Pterodactyl Backplate/Harness System was shown at this year's DEMA dive show. And I was "psyched" to have two noteworthy improvements in the product this year...the crotch strap and the Mega Buckle. I also had The Speedplate. This latest design (see picture) is a pair of plates that bolt onto a "conventional" backplate and have the harness rollers and the welded-on "D" rings...thus instantly upgrading to a Pterodactyl with the advantages of the harness rollers and welded-on "D" rings. The backplate used in the picture is by OMS...but it could be Dive Rite, Halcyon, Deep Outdoors, Zeagle, etc. The Speedplate also allows the diver to adjust the spacing between the rollers to accommodate for waist size, which the original Pterodactyl does not do. I couldn't help but notice the level of interest that the Mega Buckle generated. This simple yet innovative belt buckle design is also sold separately. The Mega would actually enjoy a larger potential market than the Pterodactyl due to the fact that it could be used by technical and nontechnical divers alike. During DEMA, I had the pleasure of a visit from John Chatterton! It was good to see John and he reiterated how pleased he was with my designs...especially the Mega Buckle. I was also visited by Joe Porter of Wreck Diving Magazine and John Rawlings of Advanced Diver Magazine. Many others in the dive industry (too numerous to mention here) also stopped-by and it was great to see them as well. The owners of dive shops from the US and from many other countries (South Korea, Japan, China, The Netherlands, Spain, The UK, Italy, etc.) came to my booth. The next dive show I will be exhibiting at is The Metro West Dive Club's Wrecks Symposium on November 8th, 2008 to be held at the O'keefe High School in Framingham, Massachusetts. After that, it is on to Beneath The Sea in Secaucus, NJ in late March. Almost forgot...one of the co-owners of the Italian machine shop that now makes my products...Roberto Facchini...also came to my booth. Roberto was quite proud to see the finished products that he made on display. Roberto is a an awesome guy and a true craftsman. Until next time!
