STA Pictures

Ok...here are the pictures of the new Pterodactyl STA (single tank adapter). As you can see, this simple design allows for a solid engagement of STA-to-backplate that no other STA on the market can provide. No more wobble! Once you dog-down the tank band bolt wingnuts on the front of the backplate, it's as if the single tank and backplate are one piece of steel. Isn't this the way your dive gear should be? Why put-up with substandard equipment when you don't have to? Take care for now!

New Single Tank Adapter

Planet Pterodactyl
Hello everyone. Well, the first new single tank adapters (STA) have rolled-off the press. This simple design allows a diver to attach a single tank to the Pterodactyl backplate...expanding the capability of the Pterodactyl still further. I apologize for not being able to include a picture of the STA at this time...some difficulty with the blog. Anyways, this design is similar to other STA's out there but with one big difference: the Pterodactyl STA has a pair of stabilizer bars that match the angle of this backplate creating a really solid engagement of STA-to-backplate. In other words...when you attach this STA to the Pterodactyl, there is NO WOBBLE. Of course, after dogging-down the wingnuts on the front of the backplate, the single tank isn't going to fall-off...but who can stand the wobble?! Well, I have solved that problem. One happy diver (Greg Voyles from Texas) writes, "...as with everything else you do it is exceptional in every way and high quality as usual. It fits the Pterodactyl backplate like a glove and it keeps a single tank solid with the backplate. You're right on the money with this one." John Chatterton writes, "Very nice!!! Makes me want to go dive a single!!!" Sorry about the lack of a picture but if you e-mail me I will be happy to send you several pictures. This STA only fits the Pterodactyl backplate but it does a better job of fitting the Pterodactyl backplate than any other STA does of fitting any other backplate. Drop me a line and I'll tell you more about this innovative product.

Cheers,
Gary A. Cresswell

Awesome Endorsement

Planet Pterodactyl
Hello, Gary A. Cresswell here. I am writting to give recognition to an accomplished diver and friend...John Chatterton. I first met John while an exhibator at an annual dive show in Framingham, Massachusetts last April 2005 sponsored by the Metro West Dive Club. John and Richie Kohler were guest speakers that year. I was psyched to be under the same roof with these two characters. And, totally blowing my mind, John came over to my booth and we talked at length about the Pterodactyl Backplate/Harness System. After diving the product that Summer, he enthusiastically offered his endorsement. What a guy! John's the kind of person who is both generous and knows a good thing when he sees it. And, he tells me he will be including the Pterodactyl in an upcoming episode he is working on for PBS. John writes, "I am working on a project for PBS and I am using open circuit for part of it. Needless to say, I am using the Pterodactyl. I think you will like it." Scoring a cellebrity endorsement is something I thought wouldn't happen (if at all) for years to come...and yet, here I am! John also writes, "...the only other thing I might want is for you to be successful with your business." Well, that says it all. A new venture like this needs all the exposure it can get. Friends tell me they have spotted the Pterodactyl in some episodes of Deep Sea Detectives. Thank you John for all your support!

Sincerely Yours,
Gary A. Cresswell
